  1. Set Out a Business Goals For The Year: Ensure you goals are SMART and as specific as much as possible e.g what size of the market share are you looking to secure, profits to make or revenue to generate. Write them down, what the goal for the business this year? and make it as specific as possible.
  2. Share With The Team: The next steps would be to get the buy-in of your team. Write the goals and share it with them to see where everyone fits into achieving the goals. Who is responsible for who and their roles.
  3. Map Out The Required Resources: Ascertain what is the requirement needed to achieve the goals. Resources could be in terms of human, material, technological or financial resources. Be clear with what you need and seek to get that in place. You might not get all you need but make the best of what is available.
  4. Take Action: Goals would be mere words without actionable steps. Break down the larger goal into small actionable items and assign to the parties concerned. Lastly, track and evaluate to measure progress. This would ensure you goals are on track and corrective measures can be put in place where necessary.
